Indexing Wiki Content

Search engines use some standard HTML meta elements to provide a nice index (e.g., showing a user-provided summary of a page rather than randomly extracted page content).

All Wiki content is indexed automatically (including telling the search engine who last changed the content and when).

If you want to improve the default appearance of a page, you can add WikiPageProperties for Summary and Keywords. This page, for example, has those properties.

Note
As of December 2004, FlexWiki sites now use a new TopicURLFormat that will ensure that search engines like SharePoint effectively index FlexWiki content (as well as sites like google.com and msn.com which were already working fine.)
