Question: I notice that the FlexWiki build number looks something like 1.8.0.1688. What does this mean?

Answer: Build numbers are created as

• major.minor.branch.build

Where

• Major and minor are set by hand
• Branch is always zero (so far)
• Build: goes up by one every time

So it essentially tells you which CruiseControlDotNet (see BuildSystem) build this version came from. All FlexWiki releases are published from the continuous builds on http://builds.flexwiki.com.

Build numbers used to look like 1.0.1533.0, where the build number was the third number, but we changed it to make more sense.
