RSS feed for the FlexWiki namespace

Flex Wiki Blog Portal
.
Summary
pointer to namespaces demonstrating how to use FlexWiki as a Blog Portal with connected Discussion Forum, featuring HTML Skins for a radical new look and approach to styling FlexWiki

New Look - New Features

The new look is based on HtmlSkins which are implemented in the namespace WebLog _ContentBaseDefinition.

This allows xhtml to be input as a multiline property for output in conjunction with other FlexWiki fetures, including the topic body and selected borders. This xhtml allows for an implementation of navigation menus that is more normal for a web application. The skin on this site does not have any ads include, but links are provided below to a site that has integrated ads.

The new look is combined with an updated blogging engine using WikiTalk. Most of this is explained in BlogSetupInFlexWiki with more implementation details to follow next week. The engine makes use of the authorization features within FlexWiki to ensure the integrity of individual entries, but still allow a single engine to support an unlimited number of bloggers. There are also procedures for ensuring new entries remain private, pending publishing.

The blog engine has a forum system attached that integrates comments or talkback. In this demonstration the comment subsystem is implemented as a separate namespace, but it could be fully integrated, with the comments even apearing on the same webpage as the blog entry. Maybe this is something that should be done in future development.

Warning
do not enable <OverrideBorders> if you are using FlexWiki on the Internet without any Authentication, as this may lead to security issues due to uncontrolled html entry
