THIS ENTRY SHOULD BE DISQUALIFIED ON ACCOUNT OF THE FACT THAT IT IS DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO THE MACROMEDIA FIREWORKS LOGO:

http://www.macromedia.com/software/fireworks/

-- Anonymous

You are right Mr. Anonymous we both have and “F” and a “W” perhaps we should change the whole name just because some one else already use those two letters.

- Deivod

Thanks for the destructive comments if you need more I have other 20 logos already in my hard drive. I can’t stop designing. _Deivod

For what it's worth, while they are superficially similar, I don't see them being that close. One's solid, one's hollow, and the crossbar on the f comes out on opposite sides. While I'm no IP lawyer, I don't think there's anything to worry about. Nice job Mr. Tamez. -- CraigAndera

Why don't we just ping Macromedia and ask them to ask their legal department what they think... There's no reason to piss them off when we can just choose another one. I really, really like this logo and the "words in action" subtitle. Nice work!

Because I can guarantee if you ask a lawyer, "Do you think this is a problem?" they will say "yes", even if it isn't. Their job is risk mitigation for their client, and they have no incentive to see this as anything other than a risk, even if it isn't. Don't invite trouble home for dinner, I say. This logo is an original work that is distinct from the Macromedia logo, and there's no need to contact them about it. -- CraigAndera

Good point. I say we run with it. -- KorbyParnell (btw, that "Nice work!" comment was mine. Forgot the WikiSignature)

Love the design, but for international use I'd much rather have a logo without an English-language byline ('words in action')

René de Vries

An excellent point. And fortunately one we've already got a strategy for. -- CraigAndera

Thanks for all your comments, I was wondering about the website? Do you have any plans for it? If not, I can make some flash intros for you guys and/or some custom buttons and backgrounds to go a long with the logo.

Any way just let me know. – David Tamez

Thanks David. I don't think we have any specific plans, but in light of your offer perhaps we'll have to come up with one. Certainly, we'll let you know if we think of something. -- CraigAndera

Where can I find the powered by flexwiki banner with the new logo? -- IvoDiepstraten

Gotta admit - it's nice - but it's definately not an original design, no offense to David, but it is a Macromedia logo for all intents and purposes. I mean it's nice work, but I would have hoped for something a little more original. -- ScottDavis

While you are (of course) entitled to your opinion, I don't happen to share it. I'm going to exercise a little administrative dictatorial authority here and quell further debate: The logo stands as-is. -- CraigAndera

The logo is very good. No doubt about that.

How about changing the tag line from 'Words in Action' to 'Pages in Action'? Just a suggestion.

What do you people say? --- Mahesh

Again, while others are entitled to chime in, from an administrative standpoint we don't plan on making any changes. -- CraigAndera

It's like the Mac Office logo and the Macromedia Fireworks logo had a baby.

The J's in the 'W' should probably turned around to be L's.

Imitation is the Sincerest of flattery. - JeremySimmons

Are you ready? - JinQIn

If you keep looking forever, you'll find every logo is probably related in one way or another. It looks like the Helm logo as both have color :? :P
