.
An extension mechanism provided by Flexwiki to let namespaces be backed by any kind of store.
The orgininal flexwiki implementation came with a filesystem-based store. It is still the most performant and commonly used store.
But it is possible to implement namespace providers which provide alternatives. These may be read/write providers (like SqlProvider) or even read-only providers which create a namespace which is a cache of topics that live in another datastore. This is useful both for viewing, and also re-using that content in a reusable fashion by having other read-write namespaces share and extend the content via WikiFederation.
Examples
- SqlProvider (~1381 lines of C#. SqlProvider directory of the src distribution)
