Often the vocabulary of a group of users of FW will include terms that are just one word. It should be possible to have quick and easy linking to such topics without having to use the [] free link syntax.
A simple enhancement to the existing system would be to simply recognize these words as links (as long as they have some cue -- e.g., start with a capital letter). This would work well except that it's quite common to have capitalized words that aren't links. FW would then produce the "click here to create the page" appearance in the UI and this would be a huge distraction. So the solution is to have OneWordLinks that don't produce this artifact for the page if it doesn't exist.
