If a page is saved and nothing has changed, don't make a new revision, and don't send out notifications over RSS. This would save me so much time checking my wiki when some newbie presses edit and save (yes, this happens a lot).

Amen. This, combined with a "minor edit" checkbox like other wiki engines have would be a good thing. But would WikiFeatureRequestCancelButton serve the same purpose? In other words, do we need both? -- CraigAndera [2004-08-18]
a WikiFeatureRequest means new functionality is desired.
